3 week mark
So it's been three weeks since you signed yourself into rehab. THAT is a HUGE milestone for you, my Son. You've called and talked and sound just like the young man I remember.
You sound HAPPY for a change. I can hear your anxiety though, even though you tried to hide it. But that is NATURAL. What I love to hear is how your understanding of emotions we are having over all this. And your patience in our understanding.
I just want to be sure this will be the end of your using drugs, or booze, and getting into some harmful relationship.
I know theres no guarantees, but the one thing I hold onto is I can talk to you, others aren't so lucky, instead of burying you, I get to talk to you. And in one month, I expect to pick you up and show you our new home and home town and spend quality time with YOU. NOT the addict. THAT is uplifting.
I know your working hard. Others don't get the battle, I do, I can only empathize but I KNOW it's not easy!
I love you, I'm proud of you and I can't wait to hold you in my arms. Why? Because I CAN!
Love your Mom
