3 times? Let's go for 4 then, shall we?
GRRRROOOOWWWLLLL!!!! I HAVE FOUND MY POWER!!!
Every Monday, I walk with a friend around town... we've been doing it for years, hike every hill we can find. When I was originally having problems with my neighbor, I told her that I was struggling... struggling with my self-worth. She said about that situation? And I said no... that when I dealt with the neighbor it felt like I wasn't worthy enough to EXIST. She was stunned - you know it's because I'm so fearless biking alone in the forest, and yet I couldn't stand up for my own self respect - and she stopped walking, turned to me and said "DON'T EVER GIVE HIM THAT POWER OVER YOU!" And she was right, that was EXACTLY what I was doing.... I was letting the abuse from my marriage AND my childhood steal my self-respect and was GIVING him that power over ME....
Flash forward to this past Monday....On one of those hills, I have friends who own two boxers. They're so adorable.... one has health issues (seizures) and at 100 pounds thinks he's a lap dog. And from time to time, they come over to visit. LOVE coming over to visit.
And they were the ones visiting this weekend... everything was going well and they left at noon today. But last Friday, I got a call... another friend had to leave town for a family emergency and asked if I would take their "furbabies". But I couldn't since the two boxers were here. So as we spoke, he said he would see if the vet would take them until I was free.... then he called back. The vet reminded him that one of them tore up her feet really bad in the kennel last time, said it would be too stressful for her. So, he asked another friend to care for them over the weekend, asked if I would take them tonite for the rest of the time.... Sure, I said. How could I not... they said this visit may involve a funeral for her mother who just learned she's dying of cancer and that Monday's surgery will most likely be her last..... GEES.
And everything went well... boxers left at noon, furbabies were dropped off at 6... the other friend said they hadn't been walked to do their "duty", so of course, I took them out in the back yard after she left.... and my problem neighbor FREAKED. He came rushing out, yelling from his deck that he KNEW I was running an illegal dog boarding business...
And THIS TIME, I HAD THE POWER! I CHOSE whether or not to respond. Normally I wouldn't and then stress about it, but this time, I DID.... I said I'm not doing ANYTHING ILLEGAL... that what I do in my own home and my yard is MY BUSINESS and NONE OF HIS... And then he went off about my having called the police on him 3 times...
3 times? I think it was only twice and I went there - not called... But if you want 3 times, fine! Let's go for FOUR then, shall we?!!
So I calmly went into the house with all the dogs (who behaved VERY well in fact) and went right to the phone and called the police... and then I went to the front deck to wait for them and heard a weed eater for a few minutes, then hear him say "TAKE THAT, YOU FUCKING BITCH!"
So the police arrived, I told them what was going on AGAIN, and they went to talk to him AGAIN... and then they came back with the usual BS about how my dogs supposedly barked at him (which they don't because I trained them not to and I have the sunflower fence so they can't even see him anymore) and as I told the officers this, I also told them what he said just before they arrived and sure enough, we went over there and he had weedeated (?) the sunflowers near the fence... didn't hit the heads, so they'll still grow, but he was just being an SOB.... UNTIL I pointed out to the police that it's MY property! So the police took PICTURES! And my neighbor came out and asked what was going on... said he had a right to cut them on HIS property... you should have seen the panic look on his face when I said MY PROPERTY.... So the photos are IF I can come up with enough money for the restraining order and lawsuit for the encroachment issue... but even if I don't do it, I DO have the satisfaction of knowing I CAN and AM dealing with this... I'M EMPOWERED!
BITCH? Not just BITCH, but QUEEN BITCH, thank you! :) LATER!

I just love all that empowerment! Good for you! Hope you can follow through with the restraining order etc, this will finish the problem with the neighbor, he will now know you mean business and won\'t just role over when ever he threatens or accuses you of being a \" Bitch\" Make that \"QUEEN BITCH\"! Ha, Ha!

This neighbor is a real piece of work! Wonder what his real issues are...LOL. In any event, I\'m so glad you called the police and hopefully your immediate \"take no prisoners\" attitude will put a stop to his ridiculous behavior.
I don\'t have much knowledge on the subject, but is there a Legal Aid bureau where you live? Here, they will help pay for court actions for low-income people. I would hate to see your right to privacy continue to be exploited just because you don\'t have the funds for a restraining order. Look ito this. I think it would be in your best interest to GET THE ORDER as soon as possible. Show this guy you mean business!
You are finding yourself again and taking care of what is yours. Your neighbor is a real jerk and you do need to deal with him legally. Get that restraining order as soon as you can.
Legal aid... not that I\'m aware of but I just talked to the States Attorney about where to get a restraining order and will find out what I can from there (I have to go up there to get the papers tomorrow morning - I\'d do it today but then the dogs wouldn\'t be able to go out). I\'ll keep you posted!
