3 month mark
Hi Honey,
As you know, yesterday was 3 months since you left. Life has been hell without you..I miss you so much. Being in Milwaukee this past week helped a little but I'm so ready to get back home and in my comfort zone again. Ellen & I came Sunday to do some training and have both decided a week is way too long to be gone. Yesterday was marked with some nice things though. First of all, there was a mass said in your memory by Todd's boss and his wife. They went to mass with Todd and then invited him over for dinner. While checking my voice messages at home, there was a message from Rick from your bowling league. They want to present a special yearly award in your honor but I have to come up with the criteria. They don't want anything competitive because that was not you. You were there to enjoy the night with good friends and not for the competition of it. Something more along the lines of sportsmanship and fellowship. Then, Turners wants to rename the annual golf outing to the "Bill McLochlin yearly golf outing". You were loved by so many but no one loved you more than me. Some days just seem unbearable without you. It was so strange to unpack my suitcase and not have little notes hidden in my clothes. That was something I always looked forward to. I'd go through my suitcase as soon as I checked in to find them all at once. I know that's not the way you planned it but it was so much fun reading them. I'm dreading the start of ND and Bears football season, it will bring back good memories but will make me miss you even more, (if that's even possible) I remember how cozy I felt on snowy Sunday afternoons being at home, making a pot of some kind of soup and watching the Bears. Those were good days.
I'm supposed to go to Michael & Kami's Saturday but not sure if I'm going or not. I feel honored to be the only "family" member invited to his kids party but after a 4 hour drive home tomorrow, not sure I want to get up early Saturday and drive back to Chicago. I know you wouldn't think twice about it though.
Todd and Mac are hitting it off great. What a blessing that dog was to him. I still believe with all my heart you sent him to Todd.
Guess I better start getting packed up so we can get to the offices early tomorrow and head home. I love and miss you so much but will continue to be strong and get through each day as it comes, the best that I can.
