3 miles at the gym at night - motivation time - 12 Days Until the Race!

Today's workout: 3 mile run. (at the gym)
I'm back from vacation and also back to work at DailyStrength! Today was a busy day, and that usually means a late night gym run. I'm on my way out the door right now to go to the free gym next door and put in my miles.
Sometimes, especially during busy weekdays, it's difficult to find the motivation to run. I'm not going to pretend I'm always pumped and ready to jog out the door. So what to do during days like this?
Tell everyone you possibly can that you're following a training plan. Share it with them if possible. Just like I've done with the entire DailyStrength community! I'm not always the best person to keep myself accountable, but friends, family, and communities with their support and eyes on me, really kick my butt out the door even when I feel my motivation slacking!
If you can't afford to get a gym membership, and you don't live in a complex where there might be a gym for residents, then just get dressed and tell yourself you're just going out for a walk. Bring a friend :) I once didn't have access to any gym, and on days when it would get too crazy to run during the day or the morning, I would get dressed anyway and go for a walk. 4 out of 5 times, I would end up running. As long as I covered the distance, it didn't matter how quickly I did it. As long as I stuck to the plan!
Another way to avoid letting time get past you with procrastination is to just get it over with in the morning. On the days I do it I feel so great the rest of the day.
Tomorrow's workout: 45 minute cross-training! Maybe I'll try to make it a morning workout..... :)
