Just checking in I was so tempted to go the casino tonight, but guess what I came home instead, I realized again that it will not solve anything, I came to DS instead, this is the only place, I can state my true feelings, and people understand me. Christmas is coming so fast, and I can't get into the spirit, my family life sucks, I am alone most of the time now at home now except for my loving dog and two cats, since my hubby works at night and my stepson is no longer staying here, I am ok with that, I don't even want anything for Christmas except for everyone on my husbands side of the family to understand what their grandson son did to me, and I feel like they are probaly saying crap behind my back, I don't know if I should let my husband go over there at Christmas alone without, or if I should freakin just face the music and hope that my husband told them the truth about why the child is living there. What should I do, I just want to enjoy the holiday, should I go or just go and be with my family, my family is doing Christmas Eve and we will all be together then. Any advice on what to do, I am going nuts just thinking about it. Well I am going to watch a movie now. Talk to you all soon. Hugs. Mindy

I think you should discuss it with your husband, he knows his family and how they react to things and I don\'t. They may have been told the truth of it all and understand why you have reacted the way you did. Either way, you should spend Christmas with people that love you and want the best for you. By the way, I am very proud that you came here instead of the casino. You are doing great. Stay strong, and enjoy the movie!
Honey, you to do what ever it is that feels right to you. So what if they are talking behind your back, they didn\'t live in that household and experience the things that you did. Even if they haven\'t witnessed it personally yet, they will. If it would make you feel better to go and \'face\' the music, so to speak from them, then by all means go, but is it really worth it? My hope and prayer for you is that you can find some peace and joy in this fast approaching holiday season.
YOu did a great job in resisting, and you did the right thing by coming here, you should be patting yourself on the back, and I would give you a great big hug and high five if I was there with you! YOu can do this, Mindy, you aren\'t alone in this fight...even though we aren\'t physically there with you, we all send you our prayers, strength, love and hope......all for a better tomorrow....just keep things simple, and keep going one day at a time. There are 5 little words that pack a powerful punch......\"Let go and let God\".
take care

Mindy, I agree with both purplecat and Makmarie. I know it\'s not much help but you know the family better than we do. Have you asked your husband what he\'s told his family? I would talk it out with him 1st, then do what you feel the most comfortable doing. If they are talking about you then they don\'t know s---! You are a wonderful and caring person! I too am so proud of you for not giving in! You did good coming here to your \"family\". We are here for you anytime! Peace and Love. Patty
I agree with them you have to do what right for you. You are a great person and you know the truth. The truth always comes out sooner or later. I wish you the best Christmas. I am so proud of you not going to the casino. You are doing so well. Thank you for all the support though my trying time. Hugs Melissa
Its a tough situation, but I agree with the others check out exactly what you hubby said, if anything, to his family, and then you can decide together how to handle it. And I guess as I was reading I thought you might be robbing yourself of a christmas with your hubby, even if it was awkward, ask yourself who would you miss being with the most. If its hubby it might make your decision easier. biggest hugs
You deserve to have a lovely Christmas too and not be worrying about how you are viewed by others. Yes, i think a talk with hubby is in order. You are not the bad guy here and it is easy for those who are not living with the situation to stand in judgement. I know how hard that can be, You did wonderfully resisted urges today. You made wonderful choices. I wish you all the best and a little cheer today. Hugs Suzi
I agree with everyone here, ask your hubby first what he\'s told them and go from there. Personally, I would go just because I would be worried if they were talking behind my back and if they had anything to say, they could say it to my face. They probably wouldn\'t because if they were gossiping, they wouldn\'t have the nerve to tell you to your face. Go for a couple of hours, you and your hubby should be together for Xmas even if it makes them uncomfortable.
Hugs and try not to worry so much!
