Hey AllI working on my step one for NA AA. Its been a year already but I had to find a sponsor and it took awhile to really admit my addiction. My thinking was if you need it for pain your not addicted but on the other hand I'm addicted because of the results of the med. Here's part of what I wrote in step one. I gave a history to my sponsor and then didn't save it. What a idiot. Yesterday was a bad day except for my support group meeting and hubby got a deer the rest suck. I kept worrying about dad and should I call him. Then I think thats one place I don't have to worry about and I been wanting to tell him about his drinking around my kids I hated for a long time. Then missing the people in the other group I screw up once again and lose friends. So yesterday was a depress day with pain every where. Thanks for listening Love Robin

Sorry yesterday sucked so bad. I hope tomorrow is much better for you.
Okay, going to sound dumb here, but what is NA AA? And I hopefully your slumpy days are over starting today! Sometimes they should prescript rose colored classes (I like mine). HUGS

hope you feel better and congrats on your year.
You\'re great, keep up the strength!
Congrats on one year!!!!!! The only step we have to get right every day is Step 1! We admitted we were powerless over alcohol- That our lives had become unmanageable. It takes time to admit that and it\'s ok. It took me a while to find a sponsor but I have a good one now. I have a very good friend that was sober 10 years and had knee surgery. She felt the same way you did but eventaully got honest about abusing pain meds and picked up a white chip. She just got a year and I was there to help her celebrate. Keep up the good work! Hugs, Keleee :)
Remember one year of sobriaty is wonderfull. You have so much to be proud of. Don\'t let your father get you down at a time when you should be fealing the best about yourself. Good Luck on another year
It is sad how many people become addicted to drugs through illness and injury. I keep hoping the medical community will become more responsible for the part they play in this process, unfortunately the only place I\'ve seen real over zealousness is in restricting drugs to those who are terminal and don\'t care if they become addicted since it\'s better then sufferring.
I know it\'s harder to deal with problem relatives during the holiday season, somehow we hope they will turn into the kind of people they should be at least for that wee bit of time but don\'t let your dad get you down. He is who and what he is and it\'s not your fault or responsibility. Take care of yourself, your husband and your children, that\'s your real obligation. Hugs
Keep up the good work regarding your one year anniversary, great progress, one day at a time. Be wel, Debbie
CELEBRATE ONE YEAR ROBIN!! WOOHOO!!
Tomorrow is a BRAND NEW DAY, meet one obstacle at a time, face it with little baby steps. Everything can not be resolved at once...it will take courage to change things within yourself and patience and love to accept things that simply will never change in others, no matter how badly we want them to.
You have made a wonderful beginning, best of luck on the rest of your journey. hugs, Carla
