Having a hard time again. Wondering that whatever I do why bother! My partner of almost 38 years is no longer with me. Just thinking about being alone, lonely, for the rest of my life gives me nothing to fight for. Doesn't help that its a rainy day also.

It does seem pointless to us but I guess there is reasons to keep going that our grief keeps us from seeing. This is such a devastating part of life that it blinds us from seeing anything else.
I\'ve talked to other men and women who\'ve lost their partners and they eventually were able to function again and found their measure of peace and renewed happiness in their life. Not the same as what they had, not a replacement but something or someone that gives purpose to life.
I hate being a \'widower\', hate every hour of every day being alone. But I know my daughters and son-in-law need me and my grandsons need me to be here as their father-figure and friend.
Our grief and suffering blind us to everything else but gradually you\'ll get glimpses of another purpose to life.
Be good to yourself and keep praying.
My name is Stella and I know how you are feeling. My husband Jesse died last Nov 2, 2006 of a massive heasrt attack suddnely without any kind of warning. It is going to be a year that he left and it still feels like he left me yesterday. I miss him so much and most day\'s I feel like my life is not worth anything without him. My faith tells me one day I will be with him again that\'s he\'s gone to heaven to save a place for me,but how I wish he was here with me now. I have many fears too, but what I am most scared of is being alone for the rest of my life. It\'s hard, so very hard.
All I have are the beautiful memories of our life together to keep me going. That\'s all we have to cling to, we can\'t let go of those times.
My beautiful grandchildren are the other reason I have to go on because that\'s what my husband would want me to do. I pray everyday for things to get better for each one of us who are going through this kind of grief. Lets keep on talking...
