It all goes back to True destiny as to why we cannot ever say we got a 'raw deal' here on earth.    So lets go way way back, back before your creation in the womb, back to a place where all souls 'live' before being placed into the womb. Every soul in this 'place' is so excited at the chance to live on earth as they know it is their chance to serve God (as they are all commanded). This is why every person, even if they are never exposed to 'religion,' has an innate sense that there is a higher power that created them and this universe.    So what else is the soul told before it is placed into the womb?  It is told circumstances of its birth, death, livelihood, trials, and whether it will be a blessed soul or unblessed (this applies to whether it will be 'easy' to have faith in God or not - not good or evil).    So it is given a chance to accept this and when it does, it is placed into the womb. But after accepting this, its memory of this conversation with the angel that records all this in their book is forgotten.    So then we go thru life. We have our free will as to whether or not we put our trust/hope/faith/etc. in God or to serve Him. That is what free will is all about. Of course we have choices in every thing about our lives too. But these we make after saying a prayer for God to help us make a decision that will keep us on the Path that leads back to Him. And then if the decision we made was wrong for us, we ask God to forgive us. God loves those who regularly turn to him in repentance and seek His forgiveness. We are all prone to sin/evil as God made us all weak so that we depend on Him even more.    It is all very simple, but how many preachers know this simple message of hope and faith?    And what of those folks who are abused as a child by a drunken step dad?  Well, all trials we would undergo in this life were shown to our souls and our soul accepted those conditions.  Again, this is why when we stand before God, we cannot tell Him if so and so had not happened, I would have worshiped and served You.  I know this is hard to swallow but as it states, "A soul is not given a burden more than it can bear."
