On Thursday May 14, 2009 I was informed that my son of 26 years who has suffered with mental illness for many years, my first born child was hit by a train and killed. My life will never be the same. I was very active in his care he was a huge part of my life. Although I am surrounded by  many loving people, there is an emptiness can never be filled.

I am so sorry for your loss of your son. I lost my precious daughter 18 months ago, the pain and heartache are still with me every single day. Loss of a child is the hardest thing to comprehend in life. The grief journey is full of ups and downs, you wound is so new so raw, take a day as it comes. Cry when you hurt, laugh when you feel like. You come to the right site, DS is my lifesaver. There are many wonderful mums here who have been through the similar loss as we do, they care, understand and suppport. I am here for you whenever you need listening ears or a shoulder to lean on. be gentle to yourself. love and hugs Robyn

I understand your pain. There are no words that will take it away other than to let you know that you are not alone. My son died one year ago. I work with children who have learning and/or behaviour difficulties so I understand the commitment that mothers make to their mentally ill children, no matter what their age or what their diagnosis and the void that your son\'s death must create. I am with you, hugs, Charlotte.
