Ahhhh, to give a decription of my son... Where do I start?

Jeremy is the baby of my three children. He has two older sisters,,, Rebecca (Becky) and Megan. Becky is 23 yrs old and Megan will be 21yrs old in just a few days. Jeremy turned 18 on Sept 1st.
Just for the fact that it is still to hard for me to decribe my son in the past tense,,, he 'was'... he 'did'.. and so forth.. I will speak of him in the present sense.

Jeremy is the most clever and funny person I have ever known. You cant be around him long without laughing. And his wit,,, although it can be sarcastic,, is soooo quick! You ever have someone say something to you... and hours or days later you think of a witty perfect come back for it? Then think "I wish I had said that then!!"? Jeremy didnt have that problem... the witty remarks are always right on the tip of his tongue.
My Jeremy is a "gamer". He can spend hours at a time on video games. Been like that since he was not much more than a toddler. I remember when he was about 4 yrs old and I was trying to get him to put down the video game and go out and play,, I got frustrated and just walked over and turned the tv off. He continued to play the game (mario) and when I turned the tv back on,, he was still going strong. He had memorized where to jump and shoot or whatever.
Jeremy takes great pride in the fact that he is,,,in his words,,, weird.  I say he is just very imaginative. Like the time when he was 3 and I came downstairs to find my son standing in the kitchen covered in peanut butter and toilet tissue. At first Im upset but when I ask him what the heck he is doing he looks at me with this look on his face like,,, duh.  "I wanted to be a mummy and the toilet paper wouldnt stay",, he said. I couldnt do anything but laugh then. He had coated himself in peanut butter so the "mummy wrappings" would stay put.
But I must say what others might have thought of as weird,,, I saw that he is unique. I often think of him as an "old soul". What I mean by that is that he didnt get along with alot of the boys in his high school when he was in school. He hated them talking about drinking and getting drunk and "hooking up" with this girl or that or doing drugs and the like. He told me one day that he felt sex was for when you really loved someone and was married or planning on marrying. Just the person you planned on staying with forever. I dont know of him ever drinking a beer,,or doing a single drug,, or having a girlfriend. And I think I would have known because he was always with me. And I know the way he thinks about things. And I love every bit of weirdness,, uniqueness about him.
He is also my gentle giant. 6ft 4in and 300lbs of gentle giant. Although that boy can have a mouth on him with words that would make a sailor blush (especially if he's raging at a game) he gives the best hugs in the world. And they are a several times a day accurrance. Never embarrassed to tell me he loves me and hugs me. Right in front of his friends.

Havent had one of those hugs for a little over a month now. God,,, I miss him sooo much!

Thank you so much for sharing your \"weird\" and wonderful son Jeremy with us!!! I loved reading every single word and found myself smiling and even laughing out loud....gotta love that mummy story! OH, what a delightful boy and amazing young man!! I feel like I\'ve met him, because I now I have....and I can hold him in my heart a little tighter now for knowing and loving him a little more.

Like you, I do not refer to Kala as \"was\"....she is not a \"was\", KALA IS!! And Jeremy IS! Yes, Kala did things before, but she sure as heck is STILL doing so much!! Kala\'s body died one night....my child, however, is very much alive!

I\'m closing my eyes now for a moment....just want to absorb what you\'ve shared and imagine the arms of your gentle giant giving you the best hug ever. I hope you can feel it with your whole heart~~

Lot\'s of love and positive energy being sent from my heart to you dear friend~~Teri

At first writing about our children is difficult...over time it will become so easy. This is a place that you can talk about Jeremy every day...we will never tire of hearing about him...about you and how you are feeling. Even when others become uncomfortable when you talk about him...we will not.
Jeremy sounds like an incredible young man...someone that knew himself in the midst of those kids that are searching! What a testimony to his inner strength.
You know...my Alex gave awesome hugs too...he was locally famous for them. I still dream about his hugs...those are good nights. Thank you for telling us about Jeremy and I am glad you are here. Love and hugs...Karen

A gentle giant indeed and one who I feel too was an old soul. It\'s always in the eyes that I notice this and his give me that sense.

Jeremy stayed true to who he felt he was and was going to BE. There is nothing more noble in this life than that!

You did a beautiful job descrbing your son and I can only imagine his hugs! I\'ll bet he about picked you right up off the floor with those strong arms wrapping all around you... Nothing like those hugs from our sons... Oh, how I miss my son\'s!

Thank you for introducing us to your quick witted son and buddy. I know you have a very special relationship and it does not stop now. It just takes time to learn how to BE in relationship now and you will figure it out with Jeremy\'s help.

We truly do learn to love one another\'s children and Jeremy is right in there with the rest of them!

I am delighted that you introduced us to him and as Karen said, this is a place where no one will ever tire of hearing about your amazing son, Jeremy!

Heartfelt hugs,
Joanie

I so enjoyed reading your journal and meeting your son, through your heart.
I know how hard it is putting to words your feelings, especially during the early raw feelings of grief. At first for me, I was either \"too busy\" and too traumatized with no energy to speak, express or finish a thought...you did great...more than great!
For me, journaling became an outlet for my anxiety, and helped me organize my thoughts and looking back helped me sort through so many things that were rambling through my mind.
I sure love hearing about Jeremy and look forward to more conversations as we embark on this journey together...you are not alone. We will listen, and we understand your heartache...
Take care of you,
AnnM

Thanks for sharing a part of Jeremy with us. Talk about him all you want - you can never do it enough. My biggest compliment is when people find out Billy died and come up to me and tell me they never knew he died, since I talk about him like he is still around - which to me he is. Hugs, Ann

Jeremy made me smile and laugh at your description of him! He sounds a lot like my son Devan. I am always the one that thought back to a conversation and said \"Man, I should have said that\" But Devan, just like your Jeremy always had the sarcastic comments down to a T! I LOVED the peanut butter story! I bet you laugh at that moment every time you think of it! I am glad you felt comfortable enough to share your Jeremy with us! We are always here to listen and Love to hear about other\'s children!! I hope you continue to share your stories!!! I\'m all eyes, ears, and full of hugs for you!!
Hugs to you and your Jeremy!!!
