Can't sleep

I took a Percocet around 9:30, right before I went to bed. My pain wasn't horrific but it was significant, and Motrin wasn't cutting it. I just wanted to be able to sleep.

It kicked in and I fell asleep just after 10. As of 11:50, I have been wide awake, slightly buzzy, and in more pain now!!! What the hell?? I have an awful time falling asleep with narcotics, but once I do I'm generally okay. I'm never getting back to sleep at this rate, plus it friggin hurts so I'm almost certainly taking another dose. FML.

On a funny note though, my husband and I both have histories of doing and saying ridiculously funny things in our sleep (I often wake myself up because I'm singing and he has full-on conversations with me).I just witnessed him sit up, grab a tissue and vigorously wipe his hands and face with it before throwing it on the floor and lying back down...all while dead asleep. Sooo at least I am entertained while I'm lying here miserably :)

Not fun... hope you got some sleep! I dislike percocets, they make me dizzy and nauseous.

My mum (a registered nurse) told me a good trick for helping with pain. Take a double dose of Tylenol to kick start some pain relief, then 2 hours later take some Advil. You can keep alternating every 2 hours taking Tylenol and Advil, up to the daily maxes for both so long as you\'re not taking 2 doses of Tylenol or Advil in a row.

So you can take them every 2 hours, but there should be 4 hours between each dose of Tylenol and 4 hours between each dose of Advil (if that makes sense).

That method helped lessen some major pain I was having after my shoulder muscles were torn in a car accident. Didn\'t fully take away the pain, but made it more manageable.

Also, I lol\'d at the \'entertainment\' from your husband! My hubby talks in his sleep too, I can have full conversations with him completely thinking he\'s awake, but he won\'t remember them in the morning. :)
