I'm off of coumadin!! I saw my hematologist yesterday and after waiting an hour to see her, she measured my legs...the one with the DVT is 3 cm larger than the other one in circumference...and then she told me that I could stop taking the coumadin.  She knows that I want more kids and don't want to be on coumadin while I conceive.  She told me that I will have to start doing Lovenox the second I find out I'm pregnant and that I needed to stay on top of pregnancy tests, etc.  She also told me to call her as soon as I got some swelling.  This, I was a little concerned about because I still get swelling often, even on coumadin.  I walk the track during recess with the kids and my legs aches and gets swollen just from walking on a flat track.  She said only if I have major swelling.   Anyway, I am very thankful for all the support my DS folks have given me...but don't think that I'm gone, yet!  I'm still sticking around!
