I've been on coumadin for 6 and a half months now...was hoping to have my ultrasound and get off, but I already knew in the back of my head that my clot wasn't gone because I experience pain and swelling in my leg everytime I take my daughter for a short walk in our neighborhood.  Sure enough clot was no better according to ultrasound.  Went back on Lovenox and Dr increased my coumadin and wants my PTINR to be higher (btwn 2.5-3.5). Now, two weeks later..I had another ultrasound to check for improvement and still none.  I want to get off coumadin because I want to be able to have another baby someday (maybe soon) and not be worrying about birth defects.
