it has been a good week and a bad week for me.  i have had some good news, some good news and some bad news and some worrying news.  hmmmmm.  where to start?i guess i'll start with the good news first.  i finally have my genotype and thankfully, i am a 3a.  unfortunately tho, the gastro did not state my viral load in his letter, so i wrote him an email and asked.  hopefully, he'll respond soon.  all he said in his letter is that the hepc is active.  while type 2 and 3 respond better to tx, the length of tx in uk is no different now.  the british liver trust told me the other day that everyone does a whole year cos its more effective all round.  the not so good news is that i dont know when tx will happen.  i have had no biopsy, have no appt lined up to see gastro again cos he's gonna refer me to specialist centre for tx 'in a few months' he said.more good news is that i have a date for my thyroidectomy and breast op and its happening on saturday 17 november.  yippee!  after tx for them and med balance, that'll be 2 niggly things out of the way.  i cant wait cos then i can go for tx for the hepc. the bad news is that i'm in one hell of a lot of pain the last 3 days.  i'm into day six of some tibetan meds and wonder if they are the cause of whats been happening. i have been feeling awful.  symptoms include:  increased abdominal pain x 5, (the pain has woken me up tonight) episodes of palpitations and chest pain,  diziness and lightheadedness,  episodes of  full body shakes and confusion. prior to buying these meds i wrote to the company, enquiring if, with all my med probs,  they thought they were a good idea and they responded that 'Liver Support will help your condition.'  and assured me that i 'can take' the 'products with confidence.'  i hope this is true because i thought i had found something that will work.  moreover, i cannot afford to further damage my liver cos i already have cirrhosis and portal hypertension.  i wonder if the fact that i am hyperthyroid with multiple nodules is causing sides.  believe me, i am in a lot of pain but do not want to take anything for it because i am afraid of doing more damage.  does anyone know if the liver affects the thyroid or visa versa???  perhaps its that.  any info or advice would help.  i cant go on with this pain.the worrying news last, but it is by no means the least important.  it is driving me crazy.  i got my kids checked out for hepc as the gastro advised and two of them have come back inconclusive.  they have to go for repeat bloods.  i am frightened silly and hope to god they dont have it. i will keep you informed anyway.  in my experience repeat bloods are usually done for confirmation of a finding, although god willing, i hope not.  they are only young.anyway guys, i just wanted to share with you my news and get it off my chest too.  hope you all have a real fun weekend.tattman, if you read this, i'm with you and your wife all the way.  sorry for your news. god bless and watch over you on your journey:)keep smiling everyone else:)

Please, please, please check with your GP about these herbal tablets or whatever they are - they can be VERY DANGEROUS!
They can interact with other meds you are on, and cause you damage, you shouldn\'t take anything without discussing with your GP first sweetie, so please get advice on them ASAP.
Do you get the same feeling I do that Drs here in good old England aren\'t really all that concerned about HCV? To me they just seem to treat it like it\'s a cold, and don\'t really tell you anything - you have to find it out yourself. My Gp is usually fantastic, but he says that I know more than him about Hep c! And don\'t get me started on my waste of space consultant I think you\'ve heard my feelings about him before lol!
I will keep everything crossed for your kids, I really, hope beyond hope that their tests come back neg, my thoughts are with you my love.
Happy halloween, and enough hugs to last till I get back xx
Much love, your friend always
