Hey folks, I am going to pay my Long Distance phone bill now and ran into a letter from the Director of the company, I use an Environmental company for my LD,and it's been Great! I wish I could abandon Verizon and have my local service also with one, but Im very happy with Earth Tones, I want to share the letter with you cause it's true, as us consumers decide who to give our money to,. also I like the part where they scoot around the bikes, I can just see that... hahaha...I hope you don't mind me sharing the letter, but this is my drive, to save the planet and animals, and help in humain causes..====The Letter!We’re winning, or so it seems. Green has become the new cool thing. Companies are coming out with all kinds of sustainable this, green that, and it can be overwhelming trying to figure out what products and services to choose. I have been all over the country for different green events, green business conferences, seminars, etc.. To see what’s going on with the movement today, compared to 14 years ago when Earth Tones started, I think there’s one important thing to remember when looking at companies that are claiming to be green - Transparency!As customers, we need to ask questions, do research, and make sure our monies are going to the right places. Just because Exxon plants some trees doesn’t mean they should be allowed to continue the push for drilling in the arctic. Are we going to be fooled by an automaker that produces dozens of gas-guzzling SUV models as they market a lone hybrid as proof of far-reaching environmental responsibility? If we ask a company what is green about them, or what is not green, that company needs to be transparent! We stress transparency and honesty here at Earth Tones. We tell folks that our cell phones aren’t green, the telephone towers aren’t green, but our business model is, and it’s one of the best. We are owned by Environmental Non-Profits, and we give all of our profits to those groups. Our board of directors is all volunteers, who will never take a penny from Earth Tones. All of our employees ride bikes to work, or take public transportation. There are so many bikes in our office; we have to scoot around them to get to the fax machine!So, ask questions, do your homework, and use your money and your votes to keep the ball rolling. We have more momentum now than ever before! Let’s keep it honest so you and I and the planet will win this fight for our future! Wishing you health and happiness
