I have been thinking of my darling all day now. My darling who died far too young!
In my mind's eye, I see her dancing - twirling around the house to music only she could hear. Sometimes she hummed along, but often she only danced, barefoot, with her long red hair swinging around her head. It was a dance of happiness, so full of joy that it infected everyone and everything around her... It was hard not to catch her in my arms and just hold her tight, to let my kisses tell her how much I loved her. Often, I didn't even bother to resist the urge. I'd just put my arms around her when she came close to me. Sometimes, my touch would startle her, and she dissolve with laughter for her own silliness.
Yes, my angel could be silly, and I loved it!
She loved to walk in the rain. Sometimes, when it rained, she'd drag me out with her, and we'd walk down the street in the rain, without umbrellas or raincoats, her skipping ahead like a little girl, and then running back to fall into my arms and kiss me. We'd get back to the house, soaked and shivering, and start a mock-fight about who gets the shower first. More often than not, we'd end up sharing it, and forgoing it all-together in favor of warming each other with our bodies, shedding our wet clothes and making sweet, sweet love...
I haven't taken a walk in the rain since she's been gone. I doubt I ever will again. I can't imagine enjoying it without her!
