*Always waiting for the other shoe to drop. Things are okay at the moment, thankfully. I still panic when the phone rings, like it just did a moment ago. The caller ID was from our sons' school. Fortunately, it was just a permission question. Wheeww! Our middle son is finally doing well after being diagnosed with depression back in the spring. It took so very long to get to this point. No one tells you that. All they say (including his doctor) is the medicine will kick in within a few weeks. It took almost 6 months before we saw him at a therapeutic level. We were so desperate to have him better, we were losing our patience. He was actually doing well, emotionally, when he started back to school this fall, but ran into a bit of trouble (mischief, but not malicious). This latest incident baffled us because he never got into trouble before. It's a long story, but it relates to what his dad and I have to face: standing at the half time show (parent/senior band night) in front of the community and the majority of the school. I really don't want to go. I know I shouldn't care what people think, but I do. I was advised to hold my head up, and not worry. Good advice, but it still isn't making it better.
