It's been some time since I've written in this. My buddy, Bambusue, and I have been exchanging messages back and forth for months.
Thought I'd write on this now because it's been awhile.
Having T-Man home from school has been kind of uneventful because he hasn't been around much. Went to a concert a few days ago and was expected to be home two days ago but he was a no show. Discovered he came home last night - he slept most of the day and then when he woke up he explained that the car they used to go to the out of town concert was towed away causing them a delay - getting it - etc. Okay - so that means he couldn't call us to let us know. Why? Because his cell phone battery died. I guess his friends' cell batteries died too. Whatever the case when he was home for a short time today - he reminded me of what it's like to live with a addict or whatever he is. I can't wait until he goes back to school. This may be the last semester for him but I hate to say this but --- I am going to enjoy him not being here.
Tonight I went to the PTA council meeting (yes - I'm on council as an advocate even though I don't have kids in the school) and the meeting was fantastic! Juvenile detective came to get PTA on board and there was a lot of positive discussion. Everything I suggested they are getting on board with - all good!
So despite what I'm dealing with with my boys - I will continue to help others.
Oh - and the other good news is the exec. director of the foundation I'm on the board was in the paper - receiving the Hero Award. I submitted her name years ago and finally she was chosen. We help families of adolescents with drug addiction with the cost of what insurance doesn't cover for treatment. Front page ..... all good.
