crap

Now J is now really struggling with his depression and addiction issues.  Today I got a call at work - he needed a ride home so I dropped everything because he was in a fragile state and came and got him.  J was afraid to go home by himself after his counseling session for fear that he would take the Vicadin the emergency room doctor prescribed for the abdominal pain he was experiencing he had hidden. His counselor suggested that he stay at a local bookstore until he could get a ride.  J had to leave work the other night because his pain was so bad.  He said he was scared.  When I called him to see how he was doing while waiting to see the doctor at the ER - he said the pain was subsiding.  After his appointment all he told me was that he was given an anti-inflammatory and a prescription.  He didn't say what it was for.  I didn't think to ask.
Well, on the way home from picking him up  ~ I asked him if the doctor asked him if he had any history of narcotic issues and he said he said no.  He said he didn't think he had a problem with them but I don't know if I believe that.  All I know is that he's abused them in the past.  They gave him 12 friggin' pills!  He took 7 of them last night.  He need enough to separate the Tylenol part from the pain part so that it wouldn't hurt his liver.  Cold water and coffee filters.  And he doesn't have a problem with them? Whatever.  At least he's reaching out.
So now he has an appointment with a psych doctor and says he's going to AA tonight. Keep praying......
