moving

Despite what is going on in my son's life (even though on the surface he appears to be maintaining and doing well) I am moving away from that problem for awhile because things are at a standstill and I have no power over the situation anyway.
 
In the meantime - my advocacy "stuff" is moving along.  Besides the packet and programs I created, I am working in other areas.  One thing is I actually got the communications/relations director of our "local" adolescent drug treatment center to meet with our high school principal.  It really wasn't my intention to do so but that's okay.  All I did was suggest that this treatment center offer early intervention programs (on campus screening) to students who get caught using drugs.  I knew that the schools cannot afford to pay for the outreach services so I suggested some ways to fund them.  I was thinking - far future.  This guy actually took the bull by the horns and said that they would be willing to use our local school as a pilot program - meaning free.  In the meantime,  I talked to the director today and offered to help with one of my fundraising ideas.  He gave it the okay.  I can't say I came up with this on my own and i have no idea if this is even doable but it can't hurt to try.  So....... here I go!
