One Day At A Time
I am doing okay emotionally but I am concerned, of course, over T-Man. He came home very late last night but then was up at 7:30 and went to breakfast with friends and was gone all day except when he came home at 11PM. We texted back and forth throughout the day, but he rarely answered his cell to talk. I know we don't see much of him but he always appears "normal". It doesn't matter whether he does or doesn't. Just the fact he admitted usage and it's home very much is either. I haven't turned off his cell, yet, and may eventually. The cell is the only connection we have and so I will hang onto for awhile. We were able to attend our former support group. It was a lifesaver for us when we really, really needed it and then it disbanded after our son went into recovery. Fortunately, we didn't need it then. But now? They are back together and they are stronger than ever. It was a very productive meeting and very helpful. There are different levels of experience but all had very valuable information and words of wisdom to offer. It was the most incredible meeting we ever have. What is particularly timely is one new person has a 22 year old son in jail. She said that they got to the point when she had to throw her son out. It was if she was planted there. They gave him a choice - treatment or out. He chose the latter. After that meeting my husband said that he's no where near having to make the decision of letting him out on his own. I'm thinking - he barely lives at our house as it is. Our household is calm and there's no drama but -- I don't want to wait until we are an emotional mess because he's so out of control!.
