Even though it bothered me - because I feel for him - I told him -NO- I would NOT buy him cigarettes at all anymore.  I had told him before that if he went somewhere without telling me or not calling for awhile - I would not buy any for a week.  T's counselor suggested we cut it off completely.  My husband, however, gave him some two days ago, even after we agreed - no more.  So today T worked on me - yet I held my ground.  He went onto say that he had had a really, really bad week and.....(it was then I told him that EVERY week is bad for him).  In the past, however, that would have been enough to set him off.  He would have left in a huff without a word or worse - swearing at me .  Today -- he wouldn't tell me, at first, who he was going with after the phone rang and plans were being made.  I told him that I would be his advocate at the hearing but if he chooses to not do his part, I can't.  He started in with "You can never find anything positive to say to me....always looking...."  I told him he knows that isn't true and that he needs to take responsibility for his actions and not to misbehave because he's "angry".  Well....when he left he told me who he was going with.  I was in shock. It took a lot for him to do that.  Another positive step...... And he even did homework this week.  We went to teacher conferences and, although he's doing poorly in two classes.....he's showing some interest and now - finally - doing homework.  And he's improved in the other two classes.  In fact, in his computer graphics class, his design was chosen to be on the back of the t-shirts the students will be receiving for the annual "Ride Your Bike To School" week.  He thought it was humorous because he said he whipped up his design in a matter of minutes and won, yet his classmates had been working on their designs for days.  A small victory but, nevertheless, a victory.  Something to feel good about. Yesterday, after his appointment with his counselor, he asked me if I had called the psychiatrist we had talked about him seeing.  I told him no because he told me when I inquired if he was sure he wanted to go and he said he "didn't want to, but he would".  I told him that he needed to want to, which is why I didn't end up making the call.  He wants me to now......so I did.  He didn't clarify why - but I called anyway.  I had to guess to the receptionist as to why I think he wants to see the doctor.
