The in home counseling sessions will not take place until Monday.  We did meet the fellow at the outpatient center yesterday and-- not sure about him, yet.  He had ugly shoes on.  Silly as it sounds......counselors we had in the past who've had ugly shoes -- was an indication whether they were going to be good or not.  Kidding aside.....since we didn't want T's counselor from the outpatient place to be our in-house counselor where he went to prior the inpatient facility, we were assigned this fellow who works UNDER her.  Just hope he's good.  If anything, we will be forced to talk about some issues on a regular basis.  It's difficult to get my husband to talk about disciplining our kids.  He get frustrated with me because he thinks, I think that I know it all, which can't be further from the truth.  However, we had an incident yesterday that I wanted to address and hubby thought the way I thought it should be handled was harsh?  I am guessing at that one.  He gets mad AT ME when T does something that I think needs a consequence (only following the contract).  Hubby is always looking for an alternative to the contract - do more chores etc - instead of a grounding.  Sorry but doing more chores will not correct the behavior.  If we cut him breaks now.....we are doomed! What happened was T was "missing in action" the other day.....didn't get in touch with us --- we had to call him a number of times and then.....he calls us at the time he was supposed to be home .....informing us that he was at the park and needed to walk his gf home.  Sorry.....not pulling that stunt anymore.  He used to do that a lot.  I know he was with her and was walking her home BUT I've told him numerous times before that he can't call us last minute and extend his curfew.  The following night he lied to his sponsor and told him that he wasn't feeling well and couldn't go to AA.  We came home Wednesday night, thinking he was a the meeing, but since he hadn't called us for awhile I had a feeling he wasn't with his sponsor. Sure enough when he walked it the door, feeling confident because.....he came home on time we told him we knew he didn't go to AA.  He corrected by saying he went with another kid to another meeting instead. Then yesterday, while I was at work, he left the house and was gone for hours.  I called him from work and on the way home and he still wasn't home.  He was supposed to be grounded for the day before.  He gave me the ol'  "Oh... I thought if I went for a walk by myself....that would be okay".  Even if had.....he is manipulating and playing it up.  So.....a grounding with us being home to follow through on it is the key.  Hubby doesn't think he should be grounded.  I'm going out of town and hubby will be in charge.  I KNOW he will find a way to avoid the grounding.  Hubby says he needs help in the yard.  *Still hasn't inquired about the job.....That IS waiting for him.......
