Not used to T being home. He needs to call his gf's dad and inquire about the job that was promised awaiting for him. Actually her dad is hiring T back out of the goodness of his heart -even though he doesn't need anymore help. He needs to talk to him tomorrow - already too much free time. It's already a battle because it's difficult to keep him home. He left while I was at work, leaving a note on the counter. I told him he needs to let either of us know when and where he's going to be. The sit down with his counselor and us regarding his contract wasn't easy because he was bouncing all over the place. Sometimes his ADD looks more like AdHD.... I wish we would have insisted in going over the contract at a slower pace and really talked about it. He made that rather difficult. A bit anxious about getting out of residential. Even though he was only there for 39 days, to him it felt like an eternity. Second born, J, took a look at a local 4 year school. His grade pt. will give him some automatic scholarships. He hasn't applied yet but the plan is to go to that particular college. Husband very impressed with campus . What is even better is J can take the bus and the rides are FREE for students! That in itself is great. He STILL at 19 doesn't have his driver's license and even if he did, with gas prices....you can't beat this! Oldest helped me out with the booth at the carnival. We didn't do nearly as well as we did last year for the depression/suicide prevention high school program, and part of it was because of the weather. It's okay we didn't meet our goal because.....hopefully we'll be able to make up for it with the health classes. These classes weren't involved last year. Getting more students involved is the key. The one health teacher, is also the boys soccer coach, and he does have a lot of energy. Guess he isn't as good with follow through but he is excellent at motivating people. So we will see. I am meeting with him tomorrow to talk to him about it. Oh.....speaking of carnival -- I saw the juvenile detective at there - he helps out and wears a uniform - on bike during this time. He apologized for not getting back to me regarding his section of the packet for parents who first realize that their teen has a drug/alcohol problem. Anyway, I told him that he's too busy (I know how busy he can get, unfortunately) and not to worry about it. I still have to make some changes myself but I would like to finish it before school starts up again. That's my goal, anyway. My classes went very well. I was pretty impressed with how things played out. See......all this worrying is so unnecessary! Wasted! Oh.....on Thursday we meet with the family counselor at the treatment center to find out what days he will be coming to our home! We are so fortunate to have this. I feel so uncomfortable not having a support system right now......especially since T isn't working yet....too much free time. The counselor will be coming to our home twice a week and it's free! Can't beat that! I like this better than having to take T three times a week to outpatient treatment....gas alone.....
