WE HAD COURT TODAY.....ALL DAY. WE WAITED 3 HOURS BEFORE WE WENT IN BECAUSE OUR SON'S COURT APPOINTED LAWYER WAS NOT PREPARED - HE WAS SURPRISED BY MORE CHARGES OUR SON ADDED SINCE THE ORIGINAL PRETRIAL, REQUIRING HIM TO WORK THINGS OUT BETWEEN MY SON AND THE COURT. I DON'T KNOW WHY THE LAWYER DIDN'T HAVE ALL THE CHARGES BECAUSE WE HAD THEM FOR A LONG TIME. ANYWAY, WE FINALLY WENT IN AND THE JUDGE DECIDED (AFTER I SPOKE UP) THAT HE WAS GOING TO EXPEDITE THE PROCEEDINGS, NOW WE DON'T HAVE TO GO TO TRIAL. MY SON CHOSE TO ADMIT TO THE CHARGES (NOT ALL - SOME WERE DROPPED) AND BECAUSE HE DID, HE IS NOW FINALLY GOING TO BE ASSIGNED A PROBATION OFFICER. WHEN T WAS ARRESTED LAST WEEK, AND ENDED UP AT DETENTION, THE AWESOME MAGISTRATE STRONGLY SUGGESTED HE GO TO A SKY PROGRAM (DRUG TREATMENT) AND DRUG COURT. WELL, BECAUSE I TOLD HIM WHAT WAS SUGGESTED, THE JUDGE DECIDED TO MOVE THINGS FORWARD AND NOT WAIT, SEEING HOW MUCH WE NEED TO GET MORE HELP AND SUPPORT. SO NOW WE WILL BE GETTING SOME HELP. T WILL STILL REMAIN ON HOUSE ARREST UNTIL THE NEXT COURT DATE, AND SAYS HE WANTS TO STOP DRUGS. HIS GF IS HIS MOTIVATION. THAT'S MY TAKE ON IT. SINCE BEING ARRESTED LAST WEEK......NO PHONE CALLS, NO FRIENDS, LIMITED COMPUTER USE, AND THAT IS BECAUSE IT'S HIS CHOICE NOT TO ENGAGE WITH THE "OUTSIDE" FORCES. TODAY HE TOLD ME THAT HE'S BEEN APPROACHED IN SCHOOL NUMEROUS TIMES BY PEOPLE LATELY OFFEREING DRUGS TO HIM, WHICH HE'S BEEN TURNING DOWN. THE OTHER MOTIVATION TO STOP, IF NOT JUST FOR HIMSELF, IS THE FACT THAT IF HE MESSES UP.....JAIL. NOT DETENTION BUT JAIL. SO ALL IN ALL I THINK THINGS ARE OKAY.....? I did it. Remember that girl who came to our house a few times, and the last time came, early, before school planning on giving our son free heroin while he was on house arrest? I was indirectly responsible for her arrest and the drug bust that occurred recently. The bust was the top story on the news tonight!! Big heroin bust! I've been dreaming about getting some dealers and it happened! They didn't say the girl's name but will once dharges are made. This was her first offense, top student, close to a perfect SAT score, headed for an Ivy League school.....and because she has a lot to lose.....she sang like a bird. She has too much going for her not to sing. She "narc-ed" on two students including one of the other two student's mother! My son not only knew the girl but the kids, too. There was cocaine, pot, and heroin. Nice mom. According to the news, this is just the tip of the iceberg.....! Yes! I am so happy!

It sounds like things might be looking up for you. I am so happy for you. I will pray that your son can continue to want to be clean not through motivation of his girlfriend but because HE wants it for himself. That is SO SO important. You must be awfully happy too about the bust. I have thought so many times about how I could go about getting some of these creeps off the streets. I guess I will just live vicarously through you :) God Bless
