I think I blew it. Maybe this wasn't a battle I should have picked. Last night, after his girlfriend left (after being here all day) he got on the phone with her and talked even more. We (my husband & I) had no problem with that except we discovered he was on the phone still - going onto 1AM. Asked him to get off, he flipped me the bird and swore at me, telling me that he's 16 and he will get off the phone when he's ready to get off. Well, that didn't sit well with us. He threw a fit. We decided it wasn't worth it and went to bed. He said because he was all worked up, he didn't get to sleep until 4AM and then took 2 Tylenol PMs. Now he's too tired and won't go to school. Sigh........

Why can\'t a guy talk on the phone all nite?
I can see your point, gone through this one before and had the same result. He stayed up all night talking and wouldn\'t go to school in the morning, that\'s why he can\'t stay up all night talking. If he could get up and make it to school, then it wouldn\'t really matter. So then you have to call the school and either lie and tell them he\'s sick or tell them the truth, that he won\'t get out of bed. Ugh! I\'ve been through it and it isn\'t an easy thing, they think because their 16 they can do what they want. But maybe you should tell him he can stay up and talk as long as he still makes it to school the next day, but if he can\'t them he has to be off by a certain time. Good luck!=)
oh dear...16 year olds...lol.........take care...C XX
Teens, call to listen to each other breathe. However, is he willing to endure the consequences the next day and function at school if he is up to all hours? IF yes, more power to him, I am just an old lady for sure (LOL). The disrespect is another issue......Hang in there!!!
