I didn't go to my soccer game last night because showed up with his gf (unannounced) and decided to stay here all evening a watch a movie. The soccer game was at 10pm and when they came at 6:30pm, I thought that they would have been gone by then. This is the longest time ever his gf was here. They watched TV all evening. His girlfriend is the sweetest. At least she isn't in engaging in what he's doing but why is she associated with him? I understand that her dad is a recovering alcoholic....maybe that's why.

Lots of girls have the \"fantasy\" of rescuing and changing people.....it could also be co-dependency......at any rate, it is a good thing that she still sees the \"best\" in him and gives him something to care about (their relationship). I wonder if he did not want to stay in rehab (partly) because he is insecure about their relationship and thinks that when he is out of sight out of mind, she will find a new boyfriend.....Something for him to think about in terms of contacting the lawyer and trying to stay in a community based program; perhaps this could be his external motivation to at least give lip service to the process and things he needs to do to be considered more favorably in the courts....?!
