Our son is out of rehab. He ran away just before my husband and I got there for family therapy night. He returned about 15 minutes later wanting to leave this f-ing place. He was swearing and crying and telling us how horrible it was. Long story short......my husband said that he could go home with us. I am not happy. T did, however, cry most of the way home and said that he would be willing to go to outpatient rehab and would start following the rules around the house. I just don't know........I am exhausted and I'm angry with my husband without talking to me about it first.

I decided I am not going to get worked up about this after all. I just checked T\'s instant messages and, at least, I can read that he is swearing off drugs. A number of friends were trying to entice him and he said he\'s done with drugs and smoking cigarettes. I understand that it isn\'t always that simple but it\'s a step in the right direction. And I can monitor and find out if he is indeed not choosing to do drugs. Not sure what to do about school now but..........can\'t worry about that right now....
How bad could it be -- was it the rules or the people that made rehab so bad for T? I hope you will all continue with family therapy. I guess your husband is not convinced that rehab is the place for him or doesn\'t want to go into debt? I\'d PO\'ed as well -- an important decision and I didn\'t even have the option to step into the hall and talk privately?!! Unbelievable, not just that T can get that kind of response but that you didn\'t count?! I am stunned by these turn of events!
With school, does the outpatient program have a school component with it? The one my friend\'s teen went to had a certified teacher and work was customized on the computer and such......A portion of the day was dedicated to school work. I raise this issue since the day program was a good way to keep the constant barrage of drug options (friends using, inviting use while at school) at bay.
