My head is swimming.  I thought I was moving in the right direction and then.....I googled lawsuits for Spring Creek Lodge.  The place I've been strongly considering sending T has a string of lawsuits.  I shouldn't be surprised, considering the approach this school has - that I was well aware of because of the book I read.  It didn't seem as bad through the eyes of the author (the daughter in the story I've read about this place) and although it wasn't a cake walk for her....she eventually saw the value of it and succeeded.  Not every school is a good fit for everyone.  The local high school T (sometimes attends) isn't the best fit for him.  It was, however, an excellent school for our oldest who excelled in that environment.  I am trying to be opened minded yet I have to be careful at the same time.  I just wish I had answers.  I am just not sure if this school would work for our son.   I don't recall what I wrote last, but Todd did finally make it home...at 1:30 in the afternoon yesterday, saying he "slept" over his friend Ryan's house.  A half hour later he was on the couch sleeping and slept until 10:30 PM.  During the time he was gone, I chose to clean his pit of a room.  It was so gross I couldn't take it anymore.  I also was looking for any stolen goods or drug items.  All along he would pitch a fit if he saw me picking something off of his bedroom floor.  I didn't bother because I thought that this wasn't a battle I wanted to fight.  But....we all have our limits and this was one.  So when T did finally get up, he went upstairs to his room.  Immediately,  I heard swearing, yelling, and banging.  He went nuts, dumping all of his clothes out of his drawers because I cleaned his room.  He yelled that he can't sleep in a clean room and then started complaining to my husband.  It used to work...going to Daddy.  Not anymore.  Unfortunately, my husband got into it with T - physically.  Our middle son joined in to try and restrain him while we waited for the police.  I had called 911.  Well, they arrived, T calmed down, and then they left.  There were no injuries.  For juveniles -if they become physical they are not hauled off.  Instead, they would be sent to a relatives house nearby.  We don't have any in the area so that option was out.  We could have called an ambulance and had him taken in for an evaluation but he probably would have been released immediately.  The policeman said that our son was not expressing that he is going to harm himself, so it wouldnt' have made sense to use that option.  So...after the cops left, T complained that he gets privileges taken away because we say he does drugs, yet we don't do anything about J (our middle son who recently dropped out of college).  T told us that J had asked him to get him some coke and acid for him.  J knows that in December he is going to be tested for drugs ordered by the court.  If he does coke and acid now.....it won't show up in the testing in that far off date.  Now I have something else to deal with.  Oh...although T is a perpetual liar, I believe what he says.  I  had thought this situation with J was more problematic for a number of reasons - one being that T said, when he learned his brother was coming home, that he was happy about it.  J has money.  I know T considers anyone who gets in his way from  doing  drugs is an enemy - that was one reason I was suspicious of T wanting J home.  T received a call on his cell (before it was turned off) from our oldest and T refused to answer it because he knew that his oldest brother would try and talk some sense into him.   Today I will be hearing from the detective.  I have the print out of the items that were taken and because I didn't find anything else, they want the list back.  Obviously, they don't want T to see it.  The detective told me that he was going to put a call into T's lawyer to see if something can be done to "help" Todd.  I am not sure what that means.  Kevin, the detective, was talking about house arrest or possibly juvenile dentention.  I don't like those options.  Why can't the judge order rehab?  It just doesn't make sense.

Recently, it\'s hard to say what really happens at some of these rehab facilities. There was a fairly disturbing report on NPR about the unevenness of quality and safety. Is there one closer to home where you can check in -- travel for family therapy etc.? I wonder how good the program is if the family is not somehow included in the treatment process -- ultimately or ideally it is the environment that the teen is going back to......

If he has to go to juvenile, perhaps he can be put in the rehab section/program (or does your local facility not provide these services)?

2nd son is a real worry too. T has a point.....Perhaps a condition of living at home is regular drug testing.....I wonder if \"anxiety\" is missing from his diagnosis and treatment plan? When the meds don\'t address this, pot and such are the goto drugs of choice....Worth a call to the psychiatrist?

Hang in there!!!!
