T-Man home again - truant.  I am getting so sick of this crap.  No help in sight.  I've been told to be patient and I was..... but I ain't no more.  There was a long explanation by the detective as to why T wasn't in the system but basically it was about a lack of communication between him and the woman at the intake department.  He was gone for a week and she was gone for two weeks, which didn't help either.  He claims it set us back about three weeks but I say it's longer than that.  And, although they can put a rush on this matter, we will still have to wait.  And as time ticks on....... It sucks. Despite the fact that my son is suffering and slipping further away....life does go on.  Last night I chose not to attend a jewelry party I was invited to go to because my husband and I had to go to a wake.  One of our teammate's dad died.  He was 67 and died suddenly.  It was so sad.  She was extremely close to him, as were her children.   Following the wake my husband and I  rushed to attend a meeting at our local coffee shop.  A new volunteer group is forming and we wanted to be a part of it.  The idea of this group is to pull the community together that would include kids, parents, and adults - young and old.  The group will also draw from other groups such as scouts, youth groups, and civic organizations for support.  It's a great concept.  This meeting was a first - in it's infancy - and so this initial meeting was attended by only by 7 people, including our high school principal.  I sat next to him.  Glad we have a good relationship now.  He's been very supportive of T and us.  So much so that when I talked to him yesterday (T- Man skipped school and had left the house) he asked me if T had a cell phone.  I said yes, hadn't turned off yet, and gave him the number.  Well, do ya think T was a little surprised when he answered his phone?  The v. principal got a kick out of T's reaction.  He talked to T about why he should go to school, what are his plans in life etc..  I really appreciated him doing that.  It meant a lot. Following that meeting I went to Al Anon.  It was an emotional one.  The "lead", they call it gets up and shares his or her story.  This fellow was very emotional (understandably) and just let it all out.  It was an emotionally draining evening.  Then we come home and wait for T to show.  He actually came home rather early for him.....11 PM school night.  He then went downstairs in the basement.  Out of habit I fell asleep on the sofa....only to wake up to what I thought he was doing was leaving.....  He dismissed that, I went back to sleep.  But not for long.  I ended up checking to see if he was leaving...and I was right.  His bed was empty and his instant message said he was going to smoke some pot.  Nice. On a lighter note.......our high school raised $3000.00 + for the Walk for suicide prevention that will take place this Sunday.  Actually, the high school raised $8.00 in change - I did most of the rest of the money.  I just hope things are different next year - having the school more involved because I can't be hitting these people up again!  Besides they are supposed to be doing it ...not me.  The teacher, although I think she's sweet, is not the one to do this.  Maybe I can make this a community adventure with the new volunteer group?  It's a thought....... Well......hope to hear from the lawyer today about my question regarding involuntary commitment.  My son is depressed following whatever he's taking.  Yesterday he played a song with the lyrics  "I feel like dying" over and over again.
