It's past 3 AM and T isn't home. I am exhausted but I can't sleep. It seemed like he was having a good day, too. He hung around our house for a good part of the day ...coming back every now and then, also. We were getting our hopes up and we commented that there HAD to be something wrong....because he was home! Our new norm makes everyday normal behavior odd around here. Pretty sad. Has anyone ever heard of a probate warrent? We would have to get a lawyer in order to do this if this is our only choice. Our friend, Dave, who has found himself very involved in our situation (he's such a doll) and has a friend who was a juvenile detective in the city. Dave spoke with him and his friend offered this as a suggestion. What it is is......a warrent would have to be obtained (don't know all the details......that would be the lawyer's job) to take our son into custody - not criminal - but for assessment - a mental evalution. He would be admitted for about 3 days I guess he said. My concern is ........and then what? What if he checks out okay - without any underlying issues? I guess I need to find that out before I consider it. Since "we" had a good day today when he called.....it didn't seem pressing. Now ......I am not so sure. This has been suggested before but it was too premature ...or so I thought. I do not think he has any underlying depression but ....who knows? All I know is that he didn't display any characteristics of depression before he got involved in drugs. I am so worried and tired I just want to ........

yeah ....it\'s now 4:30 AM. Guess i should try and get some shut eye! Oh..as far as the probate warrent is concerned...if he checks out okay, mentally, he won\'t for drug use....that is what may get him in the system.......

Of course the best rest would be getting to the bottom of the problem.......
The BIG questions are WHERE will the evaluation take place and WHO will perform it?! Is it the jail or emergency public mental health facility? Do you have an option to identify or choose the person doing the evaluation or submit counter evaluations by a professional of your choice. I only say this since in your experience you have had interaction with \"professionals\" who do not seem well qualified and/or are in the wrong profession! Perhaps you could talk to your middle sons pysch about this? GOOD LUCK
That is a very good idea. You are absolutely right. I just wish that my middle son\'s doctor was a little more helpful. He\'s a great doctor but very overwhelmed. Now that I think of it, however, there is someone (an intake person) who\'ve I talked to before, located at the same office as the doctor\'s and he\'s been very helpful when I first approached them about the drug situation. I may contact him to get some more information.
