T-Man's problems keep piling up and, of course, he's not as bothered by them as much we are. Maybe I should start taking some drugs to numb the pain. Sorry --bad joke. Well -- looks like the IPOD from the other house he took from, that was confiscated at school the other day, is the one. Now he has two burglary charges added to his long list of offenses. Oh....and he didn't choose to serve the detention or in-school-suspension so now he will have an out of school suspension. Like it matters. He's refusing to go to school today because he came home last night past midnight -- tired. So now he will have an unexcused absence. Like even that matters because he's failing all his classes and doesn't even care. The main issue, of course, is getting him help. I just wish someone could find out what the heck is going on with the paperwork. Our friend, Dave, met with Kevin - the detective, yesterday and Dave told him that he made lots of headway with T-Man. Kevin was so impressed with Dave that he said he'd like to hire him - kidding (of course). Kevin said that since T-Man trusts Dave that maybe he can convince T-Man to agree to go to a drug assessment. Kevin knows that T doesn't trust him because of all the garbage T's friends share with him. T associates Kevin with getting him in trouble. It has nothing to do with T-Man's actions....because, to T, what he does wrong is everyone's fault but his. Kevin hopes that Dave will be able to convince T that Kevin will be T's best man and advocate in court and not his enemy. It's a tall order to fill but ....what the heck. It can't hurt to try.In lieu of what has been going one.....I really know what I must do.......be positive. I am going to another Al-Alon meeting tonight to try and help me work through this. So far.....I do not like these meetings. I like the idea that the focus on the "caregiver" - making healthy mental choices etc.....but I don't know.....I will give it some more time. They suggest going 6 times before deciding whether it's for you or not. I don't like them because I can't relate to most of what they are saying. It's a big group and there are only 3 (including me) who have kids who are using. My son's main choice is drugs anyway. Alcohol is the focus. Apparently -- it doesn't matter. I would like to attend a group called Families Anonymous (it's specific to parents of kids on drugs) but the group we want to try is the same night my husband refs soccer. It will be over in a few weeks so, perhaps, that is where we may go. In the meantime, I must get going an pound the pavement. I promised the suicide prevention organization that I would deliver posters throughout our area and beyond....... Gotta get out of here while my baby sleeps........ sigh.

Busy.. busy.. I hope it works with Dave, though you might want to \"save him\" for someone T might want to run to... He is a lucky boy to have you.. I know I have said it before, but I cannot say it enough!
