I knew this was going to be a very long weekend. Funny ... I used to love weekends. The weather is just beautiful and I just can't even enjoy it. My husband has been busy this whole weekend involved in our local community soccer tournament, mostly reffing. We've been busy in the evenings socializing with our soccer teams, which was fun. And although I've been trying to keep busy I worry so over my baby .....T-Man. He is so deep in his usage and it sucks that I can't do a darn thing about it right now. If that detective doesn't return my call tomorrow I am going to scream! I just want to know what is going on. I backed off for awhile thinking I'd hear from him sooner than later; little did I know I'd have to wait A LOT "later". T-Man's guidance counselor at school e-mailed me wanting to set up a time for us (my husband and I) to meet with him and the teachers. This is going to be interesting. I have absolutely nothing to say and THAT is not like me when it comes to T-Man's I.E.P meetings. Fortunately, the school is aware of T's situation but I wonder what the heck is going to be discussed. Depending how this meeting goes.....we will probably share with them that we are trying to get him into rehab. So we will see about that. Haven't had anymore activity (donations) coming in on the suicide prevention high school walk website. There were a few the first few days and then......nothing. I wonder why we haven't had any of the people who told me personally that they are interested in either walking or contributing. The event isn't until the end of September .....we still have lots of time.....

Not good that they (school) have not given you a meeting agenda, call and ask -- so that you can be prepared to respond and/or allot time. Also, which teachers and why....? Depending on their response, you may ask them/or consider whether an attorney, other advocate, or drug counselor should be at the meeting. I am not suggesting that it is going to be adversarial but, I would be wary of any school conference that is so vague......you do not want a surprise like we are sending him to an A (alternate) school.....You also do not want teachers to have information that could be passed on to your son before you are ready to act (i.e. going to rehab involuntarily) and I don\'t know that they are bound to the same level of confidentiality that a counselor is....I hope that the meeting/interaction is positive and that they are concerned rather than punitive. I am thinking good thoughts for a productive meeting with the school personnel! Take Care.
