Well......T-Man refused to go for his assessment! I had it all planned out so that I could pick him up at school, take him out to lunch, and then go for his appointment. Perhaps if I had been able to get him out of class rather than lunch and study hall....he MIGHT have been more willing. As we were driving there he gave me an extremely hard time and said when we do arrive.....he would refuse to talk to the drug counselor. I was extremely down about it but after speaking with his drug counselor......I feel much better!!!Looks like we will have to wait for the courts to do anything now. Who knows when THAT will be. I tell you....if I don't hear soon and something happens to my son...........this will be on the front page of the paper!!!!! The fact that I've been asking and begging for help for weeks with all these charges....etc.....and still no court date....to me is irresponsible on the part our court systems. I do not want T-Man to be a poster child!!!! The drug counselor did say that she would call our juvenile detective to see what is going on. I've been tempted to call him every day but figured I'd hear from him shortly. In fact, a week ago last Monday he told me that I'd hear within in the next few days and now it's a week and a half later!!!! Other than that.........I am trying to keep occupied by working on the suicide prevention walk I got my son's school involved in. I couldn't focus on it this past month when things started getting worse with T-Man but now........it's a great distraction. Thankfully the director called asking me how things are going. She got me pumped up! The Lord works in mysterious ways......

Oh Boy! I remember that from when I was teaching. If I had a student who needed some special attention, it could often go months before the \"team\" would even see him! Meanwhile, that student would have to come to my class every day, without a clue as to what was going on, take Fs and wait! It got to the point that I would only pick the few who really seemed to need help the most. That way, at least, follow-up on my part, was a little closer to possibe to manage. I really wish I knew what the problem was or is! Please excuse me for getting political, but I think a lot of it has to do with our government spending money where it should not; consequently then, not having money to spend where it should.
I would just call this juvenile detective. I think I\'d call him every day! What a jerk. They string you along and string you along and in the end, nothing gets done. I agree with olelady. Our govt. would much rather spend our money on themselves than put it into our communities where it would actually do some good. Don\'t even get me started!
At least you\'ve got some distraction to keep you busy. You\'re right. The Lord does work in mysterious ways! One just never knows...
The people and the system are overburdened and underfunded -- not to mention the usual red tape of any public system. IT STINKS! What would it take to have your son placed in a treatment center involuntarily? Although, I don\'t think the outcome data is very good ....However, I am glad to read that he is in fact going to school -- that\'s a start.
The walk committee work will be positive - you will be appreciated and doing something that is meaningful to you and does make a difference to others! In the meantime, it\'s just a day at a time -- hang in there!
