Well, my husband and I decided to file an unruly charge because the last straw was when my son didn't come home at the curfew time we've established with him. He "decides" every now and then that it's okay to come home at the legal 1AM curfew set by the city. Sorry. It hurt to call and add to his charges but we need him to know he can't take charge. Obviously, he threw a fit, but too bad. I just hope he will go to the court ordered assessment with me. My husband has a business golf outing today so my girlfriend offered to go in his place to support me. I'm not sure how that is going to go over with my son, with her being there. I'm not going to worry about that now. Clare asked me about what our other son's think about this. Well, our oldest ---boy I wish he was here--- is extremely supportive of our efforts and sometimes draws attention to things we miss. He did that with our 2nd born when it was discovered he had depression. He alerted me. Our oldest is so grounded, caring, and responsible and has been since he was born. Currently, he's volunteering at a Christian youth camp and will be returning for a week before going back to school. He comes home the day after the middle one leaves for college. Our second born....well we have concerns about him. Although he appears to be happy and balanced, he hasn't been responsible about getting the things he needs to prepare for for college. His sleep hours have been horrible. He sleeps very late and it's difficult, if not impossible, to get him up. He's on medication for depression and this summer we found out he's been drinking. We've never seen him under the influence of anything, but we have our sources. I hope my middle guy isn't doing anything else ... so to be on the safe side....I had his doctor order a drug screening. If it shows anything....haven't thought of what to do with that information, yet. Can't worry about that now. He has his doctor's appt. on Thursday ( tomorrow) and then we will see. Wish me luck with the assessment appointment. I hope the detective calls.

Just a thought about the 2nd - is the sleeping his medication or maybe some anxiety about leaving home for college or just an escape from the tension at home now. The disorganization / procrastination about getting ready may also reflect one or both of these items. Perhaps the 2 of you will have some alone time (maybe he just needs to have his \"mom\" give him a hand - comfort) before he goes away. Take Care!
GOOK LUCK...my thoughts are with you in this extremely stressful time...please take care of yourself as well...sometimes we leave ourselves \"out on a limb\"...
