My emotions are all over the place today. I've decided, however, to focus on all the positive things in my life. Although it's productive to concentrate on issues that need attending to....namely...my youngest....it isn't healthy to think about it 24/7....which I've been doing lately.
One thing though.....My husband and I are making progress with our son. For the first time, ever, I feel my husband and I are a team when it comes to being a united front when disciplining our challenging teen. We have actually seen some positive results! Our son "slipped" last night....but my husband stuck to his guns. I must tell him how proud I am of him. My husband has such a soft spot for his boys that many times it has gotten in the way of parenting them. I think he is finally understanding the need to be a "little" tougher. It takes some pressure off of me, too. I HATE being the "heavy".....especially when it carries no weight....LOL.
My baby turns 16 today. Fortunately, we are all leaving out of town in a few days to attend my parents anniversary parties (yes ....there are two) and then following the celebrations, we are going to my brother-in-law's beautiful cabin way up in Canada. It is there where my son said he wants to celebrate his birthday. We so need this family time and get-a-way. Where my brother-in-law's place is ....is so serene, peaceful, and comforting. I am so looking forward to the relaxation and much needed family time.

Well, have a good time and thanks for the warning! I\'m assuming you will not be online. Is that correct? If you do not mind telling us, when will you be going and how long will you be gone? Please remember NOT to put me on speed dial. ;o) The bears.. y\'know.. :o)
I agree with you: Problems need to be solved, but not worked on 24/7. I believe your thinking will be much more productive after a break!
