Haven't written in my journal for awhile......I refuse to wallow in my misery and going on about my worries over my youngest.....at least .....not now. I want to be upbeat and share some good news. Over a 4 day period (including the 4th) my group and I got a good start on our fund-raising campagne by raising $550.00...... Not bad for one dollar games we had at our booth at the annual town carnival. I managed to get my son's school involved in raising funds toward a walk called Into The Light Walk at the city zoo that will take place in the end of September. The organization called SPEA (Suicide Prevention Education Alliance) is who is organizing it. They provide free education to about 50 schools in our area and this effort is to help them and to get the awareness out there. I can't tell you how many people with so many stories approached our booth thanking us for doing this. At times I had my doubts if it was going to be worth it (particularily the first few days) but now I know it is. In fact, I do need to get on this but one of the things is getting the awareness out to the community. I already talked to two local businesses and they said they would support it. And an owner of a local newspaper (who I kinda know) approached our booth (I was actually going to call him) and said was interested in what we were doing. Come to find out.....he is being treated for depression. He said he would love to write an article....... I haven't done much lately since the booth but I've had some distractions lately. The teacher advisor pretty much put this in my lap. She never even made it to the fair when she said she would. Not the most dependable but.....so what? I have as much freedom as I want to do what I want with this so I guess I shouldn't be complaining.....

Great Job on all accounts...
What a great cause and I am glad to see you are able to feel good about something you are doing and get a momentary break from your worries.
