Yesterday didn't start out very well when I came downstairs and found my 2nd born son (18) missing from the couch (yes.....he sleeps on the couch instead of his bed). Twice this past week he didn't come home -staying out all night, falling asleep at his friend's house. The latest incident (the 3rd one....he came home at midnight but then left without our knowledge. I was not happy because wehn he pulls this, he doesn't come home until late in the day. His cell never seems to work, either, when we are trying to contact him. We called his friends and they didn't know where he was. When he finally showed up, I didn't blow up because that was not the answer. I just laid on the guilt trip to him......worried, Father's Day, needing help around the house (brothers helping with HIS party). It worked, at least for now. He was more than helpful and stressed he would never do it again. Once he was home......the day improved ten-fold. I will admit I was a bit grouchy ---taking my frustrations out on those who were home (worried about #2 and needing more help from everyone to get ready for the party). They finally caught on and stepped up to plate. We ended the day on a wonderful note.......boys helped prepare dinner for dad.....cleaned up.... and then.......sons #1, 2 and 3 went outside and played basketball together....laughing and enjoying themselves. A wonderful sound....my boys laughing a carrying on together.

Would you believe, My daughter got upset at me once, because _I_ went out and didn\'t tell anyone. I mean, she was genuinely upset. Well, when I was a kid, we did that all the time. It took me a long time to get used to people being on time, then worrying about them when they were not.. ;o) I know that is not the point, but it reminded me of that.
Yes, a wonderful sound! Kids are great; worth all the trouble.
Oh the laughter...it does wonders...
