No soccer game tonight. We had a BYE, which actually worked out well because our son is home from college for a very brief stay and then he goes off to Haiti! He will finally get to see the school he's been raising money for for most of his high school "career".

Since we didn't have soccer, we decided to go out for dinner....just the two of us. The plan was our college boy would join us at some point. Well, we tried a new restaurant here in town. Because it's in our town, I knew we would know some people there. The first ones we saw were my husband's tennis buddies. Boy, are they fun! A bit wild...but really nice. We visited with them at the bar until our table was ready, then my husband wanted to rejoin them after our meal. While I was standing one of his friends gave up his chair at the bar and invited me to down. I didn't want to get too settled, but it looked like my husband and son were there to stay a bit so I thought I'd make the most of it. I was actually having fun getting to know one of his friends that my husband has talked about. On the other side of me was a fellow who wasn't a part of the group. No one knew him. He was making small talk, saying he knows my husband (who was about 5 ft away from us), talked about knowing my husband through scouts and soccer. We talked about our kids...his kids in some of the same things my kids were in.. and then he springs it on me. He tells me he knows where I work! I've never seen this guy before! He lives by the building I work in and parks in the same lot I do, he said. Then he starts getting personal and tells me he's seen me around town/school, and starts complimenting me....out of thin air.... as my husband is sitting almost within earshot! The nerve this guy had. I put a quick stop to it and he got the hint, but it was very strange and very uncomfortable. There are some very strange and scary people out there.

Well.....guess the clothes to Haiti are dry! Must retrieve them from the dryer!
