Just got back from the high school art show. Our son's work was voted best overall in the show. He had a few pieces in the show that won the regional Govenor's Youth Art Exhibition award, which we didn't know about until we got to the show. We knew of the state award he won for the Governor award, but we didn't know he had a lot of other pieces. His art teacher, from last year, was at the show and we had a chance to chat with him. He commented on how well our son is doing....and he wasn't talking about art. We assumed he knew our son suffered from depression, he didn't. We told him why he is doing well now. He said he had no idea but did say that he too had it when he was our son's age and said it was his art teacher who turned him onto art, which helped him escape his funk. Interesting.....
