Wow.....was that fun last night! We went to our middle son's art show. The state show is tomorrow, which is a few hours away from here right by our oldest son's college. We are going to swing by and pick him up for him to attend the show with us. A brunch will start the event, followed by a ceremony, and ending with the show. Looking forward to it.

The show last night was at an art studio (in a very trendy upscale area) featuring artists' work throughout the world. We talked to the owner of the studio and he decided it would be awesome to feature area high school students' work. Our son's school was the first, followed by other schools, choosing 2 students from each school. He, the owner, is a retired English high school teacher who said that was his dream to open up a studio, so he sold his home and took used some of his retirement money and invested in the studio. The owner knows there is talent in the high school segment and thought it would be nice to highlight some of the students' work. My son and his girl friend had their own display room. His friend even used my son in one of her paintings. It was funny to see him sitting by the painting of him. People might have thought he did a self-portrait.

Funny, but this is new talent my son discovered. He is so passionate about it, but his major next year will be history. Who knows, though, if this new discovery will take him in another direction?

Maybe all of us still have hidden talents that are waiting to emerge, but we haven't discovered them yet. It doesn't necessarily have to happen when you're young. Has anyone discovered "later" in life a talent they didn't know they had? Curious........
