Found out a little more about what the state of Ohio is doing as far as the mental health education department is concerned. I e-mailed our governor to find out as to where the state is about implementing awareness and education in our schools. He replied telling me he sent my letter to the Ohio Department of Education asking for their attention to this matter. I wrote him back asking him if I should expect a reply from ODE, and if not, would he be able to answer my questions. Ironically, our letters crossed in the mail. I just received a letter from the ODE indicating that A.Sub House Bill No. 276 was just passed very recently, mandating the board of ed. of each city be involved in a child abuse prevention or intervention programs. This mandate to to address issues such as these requiring school personell to in-service training. A little too vague for me. I am awaiting a phone reply from the ODE. I have lots of questions.........
