I played 5 soccer games this weekend with a slightly pulled hamstring. I am feeling fine now. It really doesn't hurt very much!
Hubby had fun on his trip to Florida. Went golfing, played tennis, and went on a friend's yacht. While he was enjoying the warmer weather, I was here watching the snow falling gently down, covering the driveway. Guess who got to shovel it when he came home from his vacation? It didn't take long because one of my sons helped him. The snow was light, too. This is the 1st real snowfall since October! It snowed in October but not in Novemeber, December, and half of January! Go figure!
Well, I am on my kick again! And I'm not talking about my soccer kick, either. I am talking about the mental health awareness program I am trying start at my son's school. Decided to start at the top, since I'm not seeing much action on the bottom. I e-mailed our governor, a senator, wrote to the paper, e-mailed NAMI, contacted friends, and e-mailed the ever growing ADHD group I belong to for my youngest son (asking them to write to our state reps). Next month the speaker I was able to book for the students and, later, the parents will be coming to talk about mental health awareness at the high school. But this speaker is not enough. He's a start. I would like to see the teachers educated. I found an excellent speaker who started a program in her area that is willing to address the teachers during one of their in-service meetings. The principal really seemed receptive to it, and yet? The speaker never heard from him. That was back in November. The speaker's coodinator even called the principal and he never responded to her. And then there's the student education program. There are some really good ones out there that I showed him and he isn't moving on that either. Whatever.
We will see......
