I am so frustrated! My youngest refuses to go to school because he says he's still feeling lousy. I know he isn't feeling well, bad sore throat now, but I recall going to school when I wasn't feeling great. He flatly refuses! Said he'll rest a bit and go in later. Later is too late! Again...he's missing math! I am not worried, as much, about history, although I know he can't maintain his grade if he's not there! I just want to scream!!!
He wants to go to the high school Rock Off, where his brother's band will be playing. It's a competition between area high schoolers. His band made it to the finals the last two years, out of the original #of about 200 bands. Youngest has another thing coming, if he thinks he can go and watch his brother. Of course, his dad will be out of town, so I may not have any power. That's another story. For the high school Rock-Off, his brother had a band, which I absolutely love, (he's the lead singer), and will be playing as a reunion band at this competition this weekend. All the band members must be in high school, and one of his members is now in college. They decided not to replace him and not compete. I wish they were still together. I really do like their band. Original music and lots of fun to listen to. My husband has a friend who's son is in the recording business out in California. The friend listened to their CD and sent it to his son because he really liked it. So does the son. Band not interested. That's okay. They can't go that route anyway, other plans. It was fun while it lasted!

Hi Mom of 3,
I cannot imagine trying to make a teenager try to go to school. My sister did this and my dad finally gave up. She turned out great with a great job. I hope this makes you feel better, because I know how much you love your son, and one day they will realize just how much.
Take care.
Q.Who is in charge. If you say that he\'s going to school then he goes to school. If you have to dress him yourself do it and take him to school. This is where we mess up as parents. Being to weak and letting the kids make the decisions. I tried that and all went to hell. So now in my house it\'s just my way. Do what I say or feel the fire. He can\'t be feeling that bad if he wants to go to the competiotion now can he. Tell him to go to school and if he\'s that sick go to the nurse and have her determine to he\'s too sick to be in school. She will then call you to pick him up. Simple
