Yesterday I took our youngest son, of three, into the family doctor to have his blood pressure checked. His other doctor, who put him on Concerta, suggested I take him to our family doctor to double check the pressure and to have him follow through. We had a nurse's appt. at our family dr, but when it read high, our doctor had to take time out to see my son. Our doctor of 20 yrs. was very short with me, telling me that the first doctor should handle it. He didn't give me any advice, only to purchase a blood pressure kit, and to keep on eye on it for a week and then let him know the results. He also said he was backed up 1 1/2 hours. I had a quick question about my middle son, only wanted to know if he can take an over the counter med. for his sinus' and he snapped "no". Since my son is taking other meds, he said he can't. Told me to bring him in. He was very rude to me. I didn't react.

Today took my 2nd guy in to the same doctor because I believed he had a sinus infection. Doctor put him on an antibiotic and then called me aside and apologized. I didn't let him know that I was bothered by his manner. He said he thought about it all night. Said he felt bad. Said he was stressed and running behind. I told him it was okay. Yesterday when I got home from the dr. office, I told my husband that our doctor was stressed out because he had a school board meeting he had to attend. Our doctor is on the school board, and ironically, my husband was one of the school levy committee members being honored that night. I told my husband I bet he makes the meeting. He did. Told me he wanted to talk to my husband about how awful he felt the way he treated me, but my husband left before he had a chance. He said he was glad I was there today. I am too. He was also helpful this time, thankfully. I know he's human and we all have stressful days, so I understand. Just glad he gave me more information about my youngest being on the Concerta. He suggested what I was hoping he would have suggested in the first place, so that's good.
