911

Had to call 911 yesterday.  I tripped on my oxygen tube and fell into the bathroom.  I was lucky.  I missed hitting my head on the toilet by 6 inches and the bathtub by 3.  With my legs as bad as they are, I couldn't get up, si I called 911.  My doors were locked, but the firemen managed to get through a bedroom window without breaking it.  No real bad damage to me.  I've got a great shiner on my left eye.  It swelled shut over night, but is going down today.  Skinned both my elbows.  My right wrist is hurt, the right side of my face hurts, and my right shoulder hurts, a little dizzy, but nothing broken.  My friend across the street now has a key to the house(had copies made this morning) so the rescuers can get in if something happens.  Kit was great through the whole thing.  Once he figured out I wasn't getting up, he stayed with me till the men came.  And, after greeting all of them, he stayed out of the way.  Just another way he shows me he loves me.

Gosh, how scary to fall like that, but oh so lucky not to have hit your head! Whew! And you are so wise to give your neighbor a key to your place in case of any emergencies etc.
I enjoyed reading how Kit acted during the whole episode! He loves you so much! It\'s so comforting to have our 4-footed friends.
Take good care of yourself, and no more falling, okay?
Cinder and Daisy say \"Woof Woof\" to Kit. (sorta like a high-5 to him!)
Hugs and Love and Blessings to you!

To fall is horrible, and a lot of falls happen in the bathroom. I am sorry to read this journal, and I do hope you are going to be alright. I had a friend who fell in the bathroom, she was 84, and I stopped by to check on her, and she didn\'t come to the door. I looked in all of her windows and found her in the bathroom, except she was in real bad shape. She had to go into the nursing home. Her name was Mary and she had invited me to church and didn\'t show up. Something kept on gnawing at me, and I left the in the middle of the service to check on her. Her doors were locked also, so I had to call and get an ambulance. Be careful, Foxysdad, you know you mean the world to me. I am sorry this happened to you and I do hope that Kit will be by your side always.

Oh precious Mike -- if you were not alone in this and I knew family was a call away I would feel more at ease -- are they there for you when needed?

How awful and to think not long ago you had a goal of walking to the corner and back. Keep us posted -- I WILL worry to be sure about this. I fell and broke all the bones in my left ankle -- you DO NOT want to end up in convalescent care -- if it is anything as it is here.

Gentle ((hugs)) to both you and Kit.
:-) Patricia
