Thoughts

I've had a few thoughts recently(Yes, I do have them ever so often.)  It's gotten to the point that these and others from the past have filled up all the space in my small brain and I'm afraid I might need it.  Why is it more expensive to eat healthy than to eat unhealthy?  People, sometimes, think when they see poor people that are over weight that its their fault.  Truth is, unhealthy food is cheaper.  Example, a package of baloney is cheaper than a pork chop and can feed more people.  Why can't healthy things be addictive?  How about being addicted to vegetables, or running, or cleaning the house?  Why does the Bio Channel run so few biographies, but air shows than can be found on other channels?  Why do we need to watch programs where people profit from the misfortune of others(buying storage lockers, repossesing cars, getting traffic tickets, etc.)?  Do people who see commercials that say a product valued at an outlandish price, but being sold for a low price is really a bargain?  The value to you is what you will pay for it.  Why are t.v. shows written for t.v. have to have words "bleeped" out?  Why do people have dogs that they chain and never pay any attention to except to feed and water them when they think about it?  Why does a city truck designed to haul away brush from homes pick up the brush in one yard and ignore the brush across the street?  Why do people who live in a ramshackle house, manage to have a big SUV and a boat?  Why do we have to see the details of people making love when we go to a movie?  Don't we know what's happening?  Why don't they make coupons that single people can use?  I don't need 3, 4, or 5 of anything.  Nor, do I have a place to put them.  Why do those plastic ice trays never release all the cubes?  Why do people eat so much fast food?  In my day, a hamburger not made at home was a treat.  Why do people keep stuff they will never use?(GUILTY)  Why do people think college athletes should be paid?  Isn't their education payment enough?  Why are they allowed to "go pro" before they get their degree?  If they "go pro", or try, before their scholarship is up, shouldn't they have to pay back the college expenses?  Why don't they have rear view mirrors for computers?  Why don't kids play outside?  Why am I having these thoughts?

Choices? It appears to be \'choice\' related. Choices and opportunity. Those coping with poverty can eat well if the have access to a \'garden\' -- even a small garden can produce fresh produce -- even a container garden can produce fresh produce. I no longer eat meat or dairy, only because I can not \'grow\' these foods. I live off my garden and fresh produce. I am drying raisins for this winter from grapes I have gown this season. I have learned how to make some really terrific extra sour dough bread, most from necessity of having to produce more of my foods as I am too ill to make it to the store but a few times a year. It is great for weight control as eating beans and other other \'veggie\' foods does not allow for \'fat\' to accumulate. I can eat all I want of these healthy foods and stay at goal weight without effort. I have always, over my lifetime, struggled with \'weight\' and \'bad cholesterol, where anymore I don\'t have those issues from having to eat only foods I can grow and store long term for months at a time. I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic ten years ago and changed my diet to this no meat or daily and within one year I no longer had diabetes and my cholesterol was excellent with even an increase in the \'good\' cholesterol.

Choices, some freely made and some made with pressure. It seems that way to me.
