Keys
I put the wrong key in the door of my car a few days ago. Well, it was supposed to be the wrong key. I had to replace my ignition switch a few years ago and along with the new switch came a new key. I was told by the trusted mechanic that I would have to use the old ignition key to open the car doors. As I was opening the car for Foxy, I put in the "new" key and without thinking, turned it in the lock. It worked! It's a bit puzzling. Did the "new" key always work in the doors or did over the years of using it, it kinda grind to fit the doors? Have I been using 2 keys when I could have been using 1 all these years? It's nice to be using the one key now. But, the car keys brought to mind that I have a coffee can of keys. Well, maybe, only half a can, but there must be 50-100 keys in that can and I'm afraid to throw them away. I've tried them in all the locks I can find and nothing fits except the tiny keys that go with those tiny locks for luggage way back when. The one key I really need is the key to my locked firebox. I searched everywhere for that key. The only only thing of value in it is my will that I know of and things have changed so much that it's no longer valid. It's a good thing the box is locked so my relatives can say I never had a will. Do you have a can, cigar box, jar, or something to keep lost keys in? Do you dare throw any of them away? I just can't!

I have hundreds of keys - LOL. When I get more organized I will finally get the the \'key issue\' and begin to try all the keys and those that don\'t work will go into the \'Tried but don\'t work\' container and DATED and held for five years and if nothing by then, and I will not add to the collection there, they will be at last given to be recycled into other \'stuff\' of use. I have a home safe that requires a combination AND a key and I am terrified over time I will lose one or misplaced the combination which is locked up in another safe that only needs a key. LOL
((hugs)) - I\'m glad you are down to one key for the car

I don\'t throw away keys, I am like you, I just KNOW if I throw one away or some, then they will be exactly the key I need for something down the road, they do not take up much space so it\'s not a big deal. Isn\'t that odd about that key opening the door? I like Patricia\'s ideas above
