$16

What do you do with $16?  I had an interview with the food stamp people this week and told them I'd qualified for disability meaning I'd be getting a little less than $200 more per month.  Your case is reviewed ever so often to see if there have been any changes in your status.  I'd been getting $52 a month in benefits.  It's wasn't much, but it helped.  I got the results of the interview Saturday and now I'll be getting $16 per month!  What do I do with that little bit?  Let's see,,,,buy a big roast or brisket,, a few bags of frozen vegetables,,,stock up on soft drinks, coffee and tea?  How many cans of vegetables can I get with $16?  I'll have to put a lot of thought into this.

That\'s what I get too. I use mine to buy distilled water for my c-pap machine. That\'s about all. Good luck shopping, I don\'t get it either.

What a wacky system you have.... they cut back on your benefits, and because of this, think that they should cut back on the \"extras\". The governmental system does not have to live on limited income and food stamps, what would they know about how much it takes to survive in this day and age! Bunch of money grabbers, i say! Deb :o)

It is insane!!! It amazes me how many of us coping with illness that results in severe disability leaves us, for me since the death of my husband, to the place where we simply can no longer afford to live and begin, in desperation, to do what we can to survive. It, for me, has swallowed me up over these past nine years since the death of my husband and now I have severe PTSD and am most just numb and can\'t feel too much of the trauma and fear anymore. It literally is one moment at a time of survival some days. The numbness allows me to experience moments of joy and happiness and that allows me to be very thankful in spite of the nightmare I now call my life.

When young and healthy we NEVER even imagined such a reality as this was even possible yet alone being our reality to survive. Coping alone without anyone leaves me understanding this reality all too well. That I have now managed to survive nine years of this since the death of my husband leaves me AMAZED!!! It is at times a nightmare from the Twilight Zone and that is when the numbness sets in and leaves me without the ability to have to \'feel\' this existence and that allows me to think I am doing much better than I actually am. I no longer think about any of it beyond that and am simply so very thankful for the moments of joy and happiness.

Gentle ((hugs)) shared with you for hopefully better days to come our way - SOON!!!.
