Hand

With all my concern with my leg, the problem with my hand is butting in.  My right hand is progressively getting weaker.  It's getting harder to write and use the keyboard.  I noticed yesterday that it's difficult to open it.  There's seems to be a feeling of strain in the muscles in my forearm when I try to straighten the hand,,almost a pain.  There have been signs for many years and a history of the problem in my family.  My mom had the problem, indicated by her hands "drawing", closing on their own with great pain.  I would have to help her open and stretch them.  A few years ago, I began to wake up in the middle of the night with a severe cramp in my and would have to get up and push it against a wall to open it and make the pain go away.  It wasn't a constant thing so it didn't bother me too much.  Within the last few years both my sisters have told me they have the same problem.  It must run in the family on my mom's side.  It seems it's hitting me harder than my sisters and I can't remember my mom mentioning weakness.  I've got a doctor's appointment Thursday to check the leg, but this will be a point of discussion.

Ask the doctor about this for sure. Perhaps there are some sort of hand strengtheners you can be using, or some sort of exercises to work on. We don\'t realize how we use something until it starts to go wonky on us. Take care my friend, and find out what\'s going on! Hugs and kisses, Deb :o)
